New Morning Net on W7AZ 146.64 7:30AM
Everyone is feeling a little isolated these days and for good reason but you don’t have to be isolated. You can be social, make friends and still be safe at the same time. There is a new 2 meter social net in town.
If you’re a NEW HAM or an Old HAM you are invited to participate in a new morning social net on the 146.64 repeater W7AZ. The purpose of this net is to help new hams get involved and give old hams a way to stay involved in the exciting world of amateur radio. The net is every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings at 7:30 AM. This is a social net open to anyone with a valid FCC amateur radio license. The conversation will be light and casual. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about ham radio operations. The 146.64 repeater uses a standard NEGATIVE offset and a TONE of 100 Htz. Come join the fun!

Hi everyone, I am the mystery
Hi everyone,
I am the mystery HT contact attempts over the past month or so. I've had my license since ~1985 but just recently got my first radio.
I tried a larger antenna, then tried higher ground, but I don't think I can contact the repeater with 5W.
I used to be able to at least hear the net Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning and have enjoyed listening to everyone even though I can't talk. Now that the net has moved to 146.62, I can no longer listen in.
Thinking about getting a 50W 2M base station. What would be a good antenna?

Hello, Nice to hear from you. You didn't tell us where you live and that could make a difference. I am sorry that you can't hear us on the 146.62 but you might try the 146.80 if you are in NE Oregon. The other option that works from everywhere and is really handy is Echolink. Echolink is an app for your cell phone, tablet or computer. You can use your device to connect to repeaters all over the world including the SSRA repeater that we hold the net on. The Echolink Node that you want to connect to is Node # 835368. We have people join the net from the West side, Texas, Arizona and Oregon. In other words, you should be able to connect one way or another.
The repeater is planned to be moved to Pasco to improve the line of sight communications.
One quick note. The SSRA repeaters 146.62 and 146.80 use negative offsets and a tone of 123 hz. There is a social net every night on the ssra repeaters and also Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. 73's hope we get to talk with you. Richard KI7OOM

The net will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings starting at 7:30. This is a social net open to anyone with a valid FCC amateur radio license. The conversation will be light and casual. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about ham radio operations. The 146.64 repeater uses a standard NEGATIVE offset and a TONE of 100Htz. Come join the fun!
